The Growth Vision Workshop is a full-day session at our Bellshill office for business owners who want to work out what they want from the business and what the numbers need to look like to support that. You’ll spend the day working from your personal goals back to the numbers, so you leave with a high-level 3 year roadmap and the main actions to take away.
Growth Vision Workshop
A full-day workshop to help you work out what you want from the business and what it needs to generate to support that.
It’s easy to keep growing a business without stopping to work out what you want it to give you back.
There’s always something more urgent to deal with, so the bigger question gets put off.
What is all this meant to be building towards?
The Growth Vision Workshop gives you a day at our Bellshill office to work through that properly.
We start with what you want from the business, then look at what the numbers need to look like to make that possible.
You leave with a high-level 3 year roadmap and a list of practical next steps.
It’s also a low commitment way to spend time with us before deciding whether Benson Wood is the right accountant for the next stage of your business.
Most owners never stop to ask what the business should be giving back
Most business owners spend a lot of time thinking about what the business needs from them. Less time gets spent the other way round.
What do you want the business to give you?
That might be more profit, but it usually goes beyond that. It might be more time away from the business, less pressure at home, a better pension, a plan to step back one day, or knowing there is real value in the business if you ever decide to sell it.
Those are not always easy things to stop and think about when you’re in the middle of running everything.
So they sit in your head. The day-to-day takes over, and before long, the bigger questions still haven’t been properly worked through. The business can grow without taking you where you wanted to go.
That’s what we work through in the Growth Vision Workshop.
We start with your life, not your accounts.
That might include your home life, holidays, time off, future plans, and what feeling successful would actually mean to you. From there, we work backwards and look at what the business may need to do financially to support that.
- How much profit would it need to make?
- What size of business might that mean?
- Would you want to run a business of that size?
- What would need to change if you wanted to step back in future?
How the workshop works
The workshop takes those bigger questions and turns them into a structured day.
There is a shape to it, but it still feels like a conversation. You’re not filling in a generic planning template or sitting through a presentation.
You’re sitting with us, working through the questions that are hard to get to when you’re running the business day to day.
We start with what you want the business to do for you, then work back towards the numbers and what needs attention next.
What the day looks like
The workshop runs from 10am to 4pm at our Bellshill office, with a one-hour lunch break.
You don’t need to prepare anything formal before you come in. We’ll send a few prompts beforehand to get you thinking, but the work happens in the room with us.
Morning: we talk through what you want from the day, what you want the business to help you achieve, your life outside the business, and what success would feel like to you.
From there, we work backwards and start putting numbers around it to create a high level 3 year roadmap. We look at the level of profit the business needs to generate and what that could mean for the size of the business.
If more detailed personal financial planning is needed, we can introduce you to an independent financial adviser.
Afternoon: we look at exit readiness, owner’s happiness, and what would need attention if you wanted to step back or sell one day.
We finish by pulling the day together into an action list, so you know what needs to be dealt with first after the workshop.
What you leave with
Most business owners spend their time on the dance floor, in the thick of things, dealing with what’s in front of them and battling the day-to-day.
This workshop gets you up on the balcony for the day.
We ask the questions that are hard to get to when you’re busy running the business, so you can look at it from a distance and ask where it’s taking you.
For a lot of owners, this is the first time the business plan and the personal plan have been looked at together.
- Your written vision: the reason for growing the business is tied to what you want from it.
- What’s your number? Your high-level 3 year roadmap showing what the business needs to generate.
- Your Exit Readiness picture, so you can see what would need work if you wanted to step back or sell one day.
- Your Owner’s Happiness review, so you’re clear on what feels good in the business and what’s starting to wear you down.
- Your action list, so you know what needs to be dealt with first after the workshop.
Who the Growth Vision Workshop is for
The workshop is for business owners who want more from the business and want a structured day to work out what that looks like.
It is for business owners who want more from the business but are not ready to jump straight into ongoing support without spending time with us first. After a day in the room with us, you’ll know whether Benson Wood is the right firm to support you.
- You know the business could be doing more for you.
- You want to grow, but you’re not sure what the business needs to look like to make that worthwhile.
- You’re thinking about stepping back one day, but don’t know what would need to change first.
- You’ve outgrown an accountant who only deals with accounts and tax returns.
- You want to see how we work before deciding whether to move accountants.
- You need someone to ask the questions you don’t usually get time to ask yourself.
- You want a practical first step before committing to ongoing support from a new accountant.
Introductory workshop price
The Growth Vision Workshop is currently available for £495 + VAT.
This is an introductory price for summer 2026, which will increase to £995 + VAT.
The workshop takes place at our Bellshill office and is delivered one to one with you, or with you and your director team.
What happens after the workshop?
After the workshop, you’ll have the main takeaways from the day and a better sense of what needs to happen next.
For some business owners, that will be enough for now. For others, it becomes the starting point for ongoing support.
If there are areas that need more specialist input, we can point you in the right direction. That might be an independent financial adviser for more detailed personal planning, or a business coach if the next stage involves sales or management support.
If Benson Wood is the right fit after the workshop, we’ll talk through the level of support that makes sense. That might be Stay On Track if you want regular review and guidance through the year, or Grow With Confidence if you want us more closely involved in the bigger decisions.
The workshop stands on its own, so you can use what we work through on the day whether you continue with us or not.
